ROME / GARGANO / TRANI / BARI / CORFU / ATHENS

DAY 1    BEIRUT / ROME / MONTE SAN’ANGELO

Departure from Beirut and arrival to Rome. Meet & Great at Fiumicino Airport.

Proceed to Foggia. Stop over at Monte Cassino for a visit to the Abbey. Arrival at Hotel in Monte Sant’Angelo. Dinner and overnight.

 DAY 2    GARGANO

Breakfast at the hotel. Full day excursion with private guide to Gargano, including visit to Vieste, Peschici, Foresta Umbra and Monte Sant’Angelo. Return to hotel in Monte Sant’Angelo. Dinner and overnight

DAY 3    SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO

Breakfast at the hotel. Full day excursion with private guide to San Giovanni Rotondo, including visit to the Monastery. Return to hotel in Monte Sant’Angelo. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 4    TRANI /  BARI

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Bari. Stop over at Trani for a visit to its Cathedral, dedicated to St. Nicolaus the Pilgrim. Arrival in Bari. HD guided tour of the city including its Basilica of St. Nicolas of Bari. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 5    BARI/ CORFU

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Bari port to embark to Corfu.

Transfer from Corfu port to hotel in Corf by deluxe A/C motor coach and tour escort.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 DAY 6    CORFU : FULL DAY ACHILLEION, PALEOCASTRITSA &  HISTORIC CENTRE

Breakfast at the hotel. Full day tour to Achillion, Paleocastritsa & historic centre of Corfu.

We take the road to the picturesque village of Gastouri and through its narrow, winding streets we arrive at Achilleion Palace. The position was chosen by the Empress of Austria Elisabeth [Sissi] to build the famous palace.  At the top of the hill, just after the village, it is located on a terrace overlooking the island to the north and east, with the town in the back.  The interior hosts several of Sissi’s personal belongings and furniture, as a small museum. A large veranda with a porch decorated with beautiful statues leads to the garden, a true paradise….  Admire the famous statue of Achilles dying and the magnificent views of the town, far back.

Driving through the middle of the island, we reach the West Coast of Paleokastritsa, which rightly claims a high position in the beauties of the Mediterranean.  It has two peninsulas and six small bays. The north peninsula belongs to the monastery of our Lady built at the top in 1225 and enjoys breathtaking views. There is a museum with some rare icons.

We continue our drive to visit the town of Corfu, Kerkyra or Coryfo in Greek.  Only by strolling around the narrow streets [Kantounia], one will actually appreciate the unique flavour of the town. Its main monuments have undergone extensive renovations and are very beautiful.  If time permits we will visit the church of St. Spiridon, the patron saint of the island.

DAY 7    CORFU / ATHENS

Breakfast at the hotel. Tansfer from hotel in Corfu to Corfu Airport, embark to Athens with domestic flight. Arrival and transfer from Athens Airport to hotel in Athens by deluxe A/C motor coach & French speaking escort. Free time, overnight at the hotel

DAY 8    ATHENS / BEIRUT

Transfer to the airport on time for departure to Beirut
